AGS lauds in Teacher's Day

             Amazing Grace School celebrated Teacher’s day Last October 27, 2009 at the school’s gymnasium. This event aimed to remember all the hard works and efforts of all the teachers in the institution and also to thank God for the teacher’s continuous imparting of knowledge and molding of one’s character through their passion in teaching.

The program was organized by the Student Council 2009 headed by its adviser, Ms. Denie Nunez. The teachers and administrators were escorted during the processional by selected 3rd Year and 4th Year students. The masters of ceremony were Rustica Faye Santos from IV-James and Raphael Shalom Ramirez from III-Philippians. Anna Lauren Dizon from IV-Revelations opened the program with a prayer. Afterwards, Maria Rica Jemimah Publico from III-Philippians led the singing of the National Anthem. A special video clip which contained greetings from the students for their respective advisers was played. After that, Joshua Huete, the president of the Student Council delivered the closing remarks.

            A series of song and dance numbers were performed by selected elementary and high school students. Games were conducted in between performances with the teachers as the players. First was the Faculty Feud which was headed by Rizza Guia Villardo who played Kris Aquino or “Krizzy” and Paul Matthew Tanagras who played Richard Gomez, both from IV-Revelation. The winning team was composed of Mr. Ronn Carlo Bautista as the team captain, Mr. Kevin Christopher Dayuta, Mr. Jerwin Aying and Ms. Ofelia Bayais. Another game was Pinoy Henyo mastered by Maria Erin Garcia (IV-Hebrews) and Justis Anda (IV-Revelation). The game was won by Mrs. Jesimae Ezpeleta and Mrs. Jinky Basaysay. Lastly, Mrs. Lourdes Ong, the AGS guidance counselor, dedicated the lives of the educators to the Lord. Before the program ended, while the teachers were being serenaded, a simple token was given to each one of them.

         This event’s purpose is to thank God for His unfailing love and to remind us that though problems may arise, His goodness and guidance are always there to continuously fill up everyone’s heart with faith. <S>
